Sensitivity labels

You state how sensitive a message is with a label. Recipients see the label as a banner at the top of the message; some labels limit the number of recipients or forwarding.

EveryoneLabels are defined by your organisation

Labelling a message

  1. Press New Message.
  2. On the toolbar, click the Sensitivity button next to Encrypt. Your organisation's active labels are listed (for example TASNİF DIŞI, HİZMETE ÖZEL, GİZLİ).
  3. Choose a label.

The button takes the name of the label you chose, and a coloured Sensitivity label banner appears below the subject line.

  1. Write the message as usual and press Send.

To remove the label, choose (none) in the list. In your inbox, labelled messages show a small Sensitivity: … badge in the list.

Label rules

Your organisation can attach rules to some labels. If a message breaks a rule you get an explanatory warning and the message is not sent:

Warning What to do
… can be sent to only one recipient. Remove the extra recipients.
… does not allow CC or BCC. Remove the CC and BCC recipients.
You cannot send without a label Your organisation made labels mandatory; choose one.
External recipient warning Sending outside the organisation needs confirmation; check the recipients and confirm.

If you cannot see the label list

If you see "(no active labels)" or "Could not load sensitivity labels", contact your organisation's administrator.

A label is not encryption

A label classifies the message and applies rules; it does not encrypt the content. For end-to-end confidentiality use PGP encryption.
