Nextcloud connection

Define the Nextcloud OAuth connection per domain; users connect to Nextcloud from webmail to save files, attach them and send share links.

Global administratorAdmin console › Tools and Migration › Nextcloud

User side: Nextcloud.

Preparation (Nextcloud side)

Create an OAuth2 client in Nextcloud. The redirect URI must be the address shown in the redirect URI field of the Nextcloud screen (https://<webmail address>/service/extension/oauth2/authenticate/nextcloud). Note the client ID and secret.

Defining it for a domain

  1. Open the Nextcloud screen and choose the domain in the Domain list. The values stored for the domain are loaded into the fields.
  2. Fill in the Nextcloud base URL (for example https://bulut.zpe.profelis.net/index.php), the OAuth client ID and the client secret.
  3. Save. Users of that domain can start the Connect flow in webmail.

If Nextcloud runs in a sub-directory

Enter the Nextcloud address with its sub-directory (e.g. https://bulut.zpe.profelis.net/nextcloud). At the right address <address>/status.php opens and shows "installed":true; otherwise the connection does not complete after Connect.

Security

Nextcloud addresses are built on the server from the administrator's definition, not taken from the client; access tokens are not stored in logs.

Requirement

Zimbra's OAuth component (zm-oauth-social) must be installed; otherwise the connection does not complete.
