Out-of-office alert

If a recipient of the message you are writing is away (has an out-of-office reply on), you see a notice at the top of the screen before you send.

EveryoneNo setup needed

How it works

  1. In New Message, add a recipient to To, Cc or Bcc.
  2. If the recipient is in your organisation and their out-of-office reply is on right now, an Out of office: … notice appears at the top of the screen within half a second and disappears after a few seconds.

  1. The notice is for information only; you can still send the message.

Scope

The notice appears only for accounts on your organisation's mail server. No notice is shown for external addresses (Gmail and so on).

Turning on your own out-of-office reply

  2. Choose Send auto-reply message.
  3. Type the reply text in Auto-Reply Message; set the Start and End dates if you like.
  4. Press Save.
